CRM 2016: CRM Perform Action SetWordTemplate Custom Entity Not Available

Word templates is a recent great tool into Dynamics. To learn more about Word Templates, visit Microsoft – Using Word templates in Dynamics 365.

Apart from manually invoking the functionality via CRM Web Application, you can also use Processes via Action – SetWordTemplate. What’s interesting with this functionality is that custom entity does not seem to be available for the Action.

There are two ways to work around this issue:
1. Enable Business Process Flow for the Entity
2. Use code to perform SetWordTemplate request via custom Workflow activity/Action
